Face Recognition FAQS for Employee Time Tracking

  • When in the Clock IN/OUT process is the photo taken?

When using the Real-Time workflow, the front-facing camera is available to take the employee's photo on the TIME Confirmation Screen. When the employee clocking IN or OUT confirms, the photo is taken. The face recognition feature in WorkMax employee TIME tracking makes it easy for your mobile staff to use.
  • What's the difference between Face Capture and Face Recognition?

Face capture only takes a photo on Clock IN/OUT. Payroll admins/managers/humans are then required to manually inspect each individual employee's time record in order to find discrepancies. Face recognition in your employee time tracking solution automatically compares a profile image to every Clock IN/OUT and provides you a match percentage. You're alerted when the photo match percentage falls outside of the threshold you specify. Face Recognition in your employee time tracking app takes face capture to the next level and saves you time with automated photo comparisons and exception alerts for mismatched photos outside your threshold.
  • When a photo match % fails, is the employee prevented from clocking IN/OUT?

No, WorkMax TIME's face recognition does not interfere with clock IN/OUT. As time records stream in, the system flags any mismatched records drawing it to the attention of managers, supervisors or admins. We specifically designed the face recognition feature in our employee time tracking solution, WorkMax TIME, to NOT stop your employees from starting their work. Your business has the confidence that the right employee is clocking IN/OUT for work and they're paid correctly for the hours they've worked.
  • Can the Face Recognition be turned ON/OFF per employee?

Yes, while face recognition is included with WorkMax employee TIME tracking, it can be turned ON/OFF in the WorkMax Control Center. You have the flexibility to turn ON the face recognition for some employees and keep the face recognition OFF for other employees. With face recognition included with your employee time tracking solution, you can use the feature to fit the needs of your business. We designed WorkMax to be flexible. We don't want to force you to do business the way our software works. We want you to have the flexibility to use the features how you want and that makes sense for your business.
  • Is there an additional cost for Face Recognition with WorkMax TIME?

No, face recognition is included with WorkMax TIME. Using the Real-Time workflow, each time an employee punches IN, OUT or changes TASKS on their mobile device, the photo can be captured, tied to the employee's time record, and sent to the WorkMax Control Center for display, assessment, and verification. Automated face recognition within your employee time tracking solution makes it easy to accurately capture your labor costs.
  • Which mobile devices support WorkMax Face Recognition?

Google Android and Apple iOS jointly possess more than 98 percent of the global market share for mobile operating systems. That's why we made our WorkMax TIME app available on iOS and Android mobile devices. Our face recognition included with our employee time tracking solution, WorkMax TIME, works on the vast majority of iOS and Android mobile devices.
